It was founded in Antwerp when thirteen former Catholic high schools came together to form the Antwerp Catholic High School. The Karel de Grote University of Applied Sciences and Arts was founded on September 1, 1995.

Antwerp has 7 KdG campuses and has a sizable student population and numerous private housing alternatives. The city is small yet has a lot of personalities. Requirements for English-taught bachelor’s degree

1. A secondary education diploma that allows you to enroll in a comparable higher education degree program in the country where you received your diploma.
2. English level B2 or higher on the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

1. According to the European framework, you must have a command of the language of the course of study (Dutch) up to a certain level: B2 for professional bachelor’s programs. This is so if you:

Master of Visual Arts

Application process 

1. Step 1: Begin the application process by registering online.
2. Step 2: For candidates with a degree in a foreign language, approval will be issued by the admissions office.
3. Step 3: Qualified candidates will be contacted to schedule an intake interview (assessment of the artistic portfolio). Individual appointments will be set for the (online) intake interview in the second half of March.
4. You can enroll if you pass the intake interview and meet the other admission requirements.

Advanced Master: Master of Research in Art and Design

Those interested in critically developing their practice in a social-political topic or preparing for a successful Ph.D. research might consider this program.

Eligibility requirements

1. The maximum number of people who can attend is 12.
2. A first selection is made based on your application file by the selection committee, which consists of the head of research, the program coordinator, and the tutors.

Deadlines for international students

KdG’s international programs begin in September each year. The next commencement date is September 19, 2022.

Although KdG is glad to accept applications on a rolling basis, it is strongly advised that you complete and finalize your application by June 1.

KdG recommends setting aside at least 13,670 USD or 50,210 AED per year for living expenses.

Scholarships for international students

Through KdG, no scholarships or awards are available for Bachelor’s programs. They offer to fund all of their students because they are a public institution. It allows them to keep tuition as low as possible while yet making their university accessible to as many students as possible.

Students admitted into the master’s program can apply for a Belgian scholarship until March 30, 2022.
