IIK Deutschland: Programs, Campus, Accommodation, and Cost of Study

IIK Deutschland offers German courses for study and works all year round. The comprehensive and individual programs for language preparation and further education. The courses are offered on all levels, beginner, advanced and professional. One can learn to use German efficiently both in speaking and writing and improve their pronunciation, vocabulary, listening, and comprehension. The courses start monthly at 10 levels, 13000 tasks throughout 10 levels solidify your German skills.

• IIK Berlin
• IIK Dusseldorf

The institution also provides online programs through IIK Online. 

History

IIK was founded in 1989 as a spin-off of the Faculty of Philosophy at the Heinrich-Heine-University Dusseldorf.

It is one of the most successful university-related education providers in Germany. With approximately 60 employees from numerous countries, IIK is an authorized sponsor by the BAMF and also offers integration courses and professional language courses. It is a non-profit organization and the surplus funds are used to support numerous international projects and individuals such as refugees and students every year.

Programs

Accommodation

IIK provides its students with different accommodation types with additional options and different prices.

The different options are

• Shared Flats 

The student will live in an apartment with other international IIK students and share common rooms, bathrooms, and kitchens. Students have the option to select between single and double rooms.

• Host Family

The student gets to experience the German way of life and culture firsthand while living with a German family. They also can learn german from the locals and practice german with the family. 

• Dormitory

Rooms in the dormitories of the Heinrich Heine University in Dusseldorf are available for the IIK students, the rooms come fully equipped. 

• Single Apartment 

The institution will help the student in arranging a private apartment for themselves. 

Campus

• IIK Berlin

Located in the capital of the country this location is equipped with smartboards and all modern technical equipment. It consists of 9-course rooms and bright and friendly lounge areas. Along with a table tennis table, strong and fast W-LAN runs throughout the institute. 

• IIK Dusseldorf

The IIK Dusseldorf location is equipped with all modern technical equipment and is bright and friendly. The place is spacious and consists of 15-course rooms and 1 group training room. The location also has study areas with tables and chairs and strong and fast W-LAN is available throughout the institute.  

Cost of Living

Scholarships

• IIK Scholarships

IIK provides multiple scholarships and grants for its students itself. The IIK Dusseldorf provides grants for summer language courses ad advanced training. Moreover, the institution is also awarding 3 scholarships for their digital language course formats for online intensive German courses in 2022. 

• DAAD Scholarships

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) annually awards scholarships for language courses in Germany. Around 100 DAAD scholarships holders take part in IIK language courses every year.
