The Medical University of Warsaw (MUW) was established in 1809. Its English division was founded in 1993 and since then the university has been training medical professionals worldwide in the field of medicine. The university houses 70 departments providing knowledge and training in the form of lectures, seminars, and practical training sessions. It also houses affiliated hospitals, ensuring clinical training at the best levels for future doctors. The institute offers 18 programs, out of which 3 are taught in English. 

With a faculty family of 1870 teachers, there are more than 10 thousand students at the university including 787 international students. The university also houses 423 doctoral candidates. The Medical University of Warsaw has 16 programs in Polish and 3 in English. It also has post-graduate courses and doctoral studies.

Bachelors Courses in English

Medicine: Established in 1993, the division of the Faculty of Medicine offers Medicine programs for high school as well as college graduates. 

Dental Medicine: The English Dentistry division is a part of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. It offers a 5-year Dental program, and the graduate obtains a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. 

Pharmacy: The faculty of Pharmacy is one of the leading academic centers in Poland.

Premed College

The MUW Premed College offers a preparation program for medical school prospective students. Medical School Preparation Programme (MSPP) includes an English language course and a Polish language including biology, anatomy, physics, and chemistry preparatory courses.

The one-year English for Academic Purposes (EAP) course is designed to provide intensive language teaching resulting in command over English. The course focuses on speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills as well as provides study skills for IELTS or equivalent exams. 

The Polish language course prepares students to communicate effectively in basic Polish. The courses in biology, anatomy, physics, and chemistry are for students to prepare them to succeed in securing a place in the MD Programme.

The University also provides Doctoral programs and MBA In Healthcare.

Campus and Accommodation

The Medical University of Warsaw provides spacious clean dormitories for international students. There are 600 places available in the university hall residence. The rooms are very well furnished with well-developed infrastructure with internet access. There are student clubs where events and meetings are organized.

Each department of the MUW has a separate council, which brings together the academic community. The university encourages various extracurricular and physical activities as well.

Admission Requirements:

  • Applicant should be 17 or above at the time of admission
  • Admission is based on final grades in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics/ Math
  • MBBS admission requires a good score in the competency test or the BMAT, MCAT, GAMSAT, or UKCAT.
  • The students must score minimum scores in the English proficiency test as mentioned: IELTS – a minimum of 6.0 points, TOEFL – a minimum of 90 points, or TOEIC – a minimum of 700 points.

The Medical University of Warsaw offers 3 programs in English- general medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy. The most popular program is 6-year general medicine.
