Georgian College was established in 1967. It is a private liberal arts college. It is the first and only college in Canada to be designated as a changemaker college by Ashoka University for its contributions to social innovation and changemaking in higher education.

Georgian College offers over 130 market-driven programs, such as certificates, diplomas, degrees, graduate certificates, and combined degree diplomas.

Georgian College has 780 transfer agreements with 59 different colleges and offers 88 different programs.

It has one of the highest graduate employment rates among Ontario colleges, with 85.8 percent of graduates finding work within six months of graduation, far exceeding the provincial norm—which it has exceeded for more than 20 years.

Accreditations and Rankings of Georgian College Ontario 

  • The Canadian Association for Co-operative Education has granted Georgian College accreditation for 12 of its co-operative education programs (CAFCE). Georgian College is the first college in Ontario to receive this honor.
  • CAFCE accreditation is Canada’s highest standard for co-operative education programs, and it signifies that Georgian has met a variety of quality standards in its curriculum.
  • Georgian University’s Engineering and Environmental Technology department received accreditation from the organization. Eligibility Criteria

  • Students must be at least 21 years old before the first day of class.
  • A student must not have had any recent poor academic results.
  • Academic achievements must show that the student has the potential to succeed in their courses.
  • Entrance to degree programs requires a high school diploma student (OSSD) with 30 credits or equivalent, plus six courses at the 4U or 4M level. Some programs have specific course prerequisites.

Documents required for International Students

  • Students must bring original or certified copies of their English language competency test scores, academic records, and any other documents to IAS. Unless specifically requested as part of the admissions process, original or certified paper copies are not required.
  • Applicants must confirm graduation, as well as information about the subjects they took and their grades.
  • Applicants who do not expect to graduate until later in the year should present current transcripts as well as mid-term grades.
  • Candidates from Antigua and Barbuda, Brazil, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, India, Morocco, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Senegal, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, or Vietnam applying through the Study Direct Stream (SDS) program should note that the SDS IELTS necessities are 6.0, with no band score less than 6.0. A higher IELTS score will determine admission to programs with higher IELTS requirements. Priority will be given to applicants who meet the SDS qualifications.   • If any additional action is required or an admission decision is made, IAS will notify students via email.
