The best foundation curriculum for you is determined by a number of factors, including your current educational level, age, and English language proficiency. ONCAMPUS offers a guaranteed option for progression* to a variety of world-class universities in the United Kingdom and Europe, allowing you to study on-campus at the university of your choice.

English Language

English Language courses typically lasts one to three terms and provide students with the opportunity to improve their English language skills, which is an important component of academic success. Courses range from academic studies to bridge the gap some students may have developed with the UK style of university teaching to general English language (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) to achieve the required IELTS for progression to a foundation program.

Depending on the English course they enroll in, students can expect to learn a variety of general English language skills such as speaking, reading, writing, and listening. Academic writing, critical analysis, citation, and seminar skills are some of the more academically focused abilities. The overall goal of these courses is to prepare students for academic study at UK universities.

Undergraduate Foundation

A one-year (3-term) Undergraduate Foundation program leads successful students to a UK university. Depending on the pathway chosen or the anticipated advancement degree, students will generally study three to four courses in addition to the English language. The level of English proficiency is one of the most important requirements for university admission, and it is critical for success in addition to filling any academic gaps.

Students may spend up to five hours per week in class per subject and must devote a similar amount of time to self-directed learning.

Because successful candidates can proceed to Year 2 of a related degree, the IELTS admission levels are higher than for an Undergraduate Foundation. Students will spend up to five hours per week in class per subject and must devote a comparable amount of time to independent study.

Master’s Foundation

Depending on the subject and progression route, a Master’s Foundation program (also known as master’s preparatory program or pre-pathway) masters can be taught in one to four terms, though it is usually taught in three (1 year). Additionally, provide successful students with the opportunity to pursue a master’s degree at their preferred university. Students usually take 2-3 modules in addition to English for Academic Purposes. One of the most crucial requirements for university admission is an English language level, which can help fill in any academic shortfalls.

Students will spend up to five hours per week in class per module and be required to devote a similar amount of time to self-directed learning.

Medicine Undergraduate Foundation

A Medicine Undergraduate Foundation is a one-year (3-term) program that prepares students to apply to the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Year 1 program at UCLan. Students will typically study three to four disciplines in addition to English, depending on the pathway chosen. English language proficiency is one of the most important requirements for university admission, and it is critical to students’ success in addition to filling any academic deficiencies.

Students will be required to spend up to five hours per week in class per subject and a similar amount of time on self-directed learning.

The advantages of programs include

  4. Students will be assisted by a personal tutor as well as subject tutors in order to stay on track with their studies.
