Texas Wesleyan University (TXWES) was founded by the Methodist Episcopal Church, in 1890. It was initially a women’s college, later it transitioned into a co-ed college in 1935. Texas Wesleyan University offers online degrees, dual degrees, and special programs apart from their undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Campus and Accommodation

The campus is located at Wesleyan Street, Fort Worth, Texas. They provide a virtual tour of the campus on the official college website.

The university has an on-campus dining option (Dora’s Cafe). Undergraduate and postgraduate students who live in the Residence Halls must have the Platinum meal plan to satisfy the meal plan requirement.

Accommodation:

There are 4 residential halls on the campus:

  • Stella Russell Hall: This is a three-story, co-ed residence hall providing accommodation for 150 students. Double occupancy rooms are available here. This hall is open to freshman students only. Each room consists of twin size XL adjustable beds, desks, built-in dressers. Each wing of every floor has a bathroom. Floor wings are assigned by gender. Other amenities include table tennis, pool table, kitchen, Study/computer room, game room, television area, and laundry room.
  • Elizabeth Means Armstrong Hall: This is a two-story, co-ed suite-style residence hall providing accommodation for 100 students. All rooms here are double occupancy. Each student shares a double-occupancy room within a four-person suite which consists of twin-XL size adjustable beds, two desks, built-in dressers, and a bathroom shared with the adjoining room. Suites are assigned by gender but floors are not gender-specific. Other amenities include a kitchen, recreation room with TV, and pool table. Laundry facilities are available on each floor.
  • OC Hall: This is also a co-ed, suite-style residence hall that accommodates 100 students. This hall is open to upper-class students. Each student shares a double-occupancy room within a four-person suite which consists of twin-XL size adjustable beds, two desks, built-in dressers, and a bathroom shared with the adjoining room. The suites are assigned by gender but floors are not gender-specific. Other amenities include a kitchen, recreation room with TV, and pool table. Laundry facilities are available on each floor.
  • West Village: This is an apartment-style residence hall that accommodates 230 students. They have two options available- a four-bedroom unit and a single-efficiency unit. This hall is open to upper class and graduate students only. 

The four-bedroom unit consists of a kitchenette with a full-size refrigerator and sink, two bathrooms with shower and tub, and a common living area. Each student has their own room with an XL twin adjustable bed, desk, and a dresser. 

The single-efficiency unit consists of a kitchenette with a full-size refrigerator and sink, a room with a full-size adjustable bed, a desk, a dresser, and a bathroom. The apartments are assigned by gender but floors are not gender-specific. Other amenities include laundry, activity space, kitchen, vending machines, television area, and a group study area.

Admission requirements for international students

  • Application- Online

There are 3 ways to apply to TXWES:

    • Apply via Gyanberry or
    • Apply directly through the university 
    • with The Common App if you are applying to schools both in Texas and out of the state.  
  • Application Fee- No charges for application
  • Documents Required:
    • Academic Transcripts: All examination results from your secondary school, as well as post-secondary college or university if attended.
  • Proof of English Proficiency Test: TOEFL or IELTS scores.
  • Application Requirements:
    • A cumulative GPA equivalent to at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale with secondary school completion.
    • Transfer students must present a U.S-equivalent cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale at the time of admission.
    • Minimum TOEFL score of 68 (Internet) or 190 (Computer) or 520 (Paper).
    • Minimum 6.0 academic band score in IELTS.

  • Founder’s Scholarship

Scholarship amount: $17,500–$19,000 ( Fall and spring semesters)

    • GPA: 3.00-3.49
    • Credit Hours:
      • Fall semester: Must enroll in at least 12 credit hours
      • Spring semesters: Must enroll in at least 6 credit hours
  • University Scholarship

Scholarship amount: $16,500-$17,000 ( Fall and spring semesters)
