The University of Wisconsin–Stout is a state-funded university located in Menomonie, Wisconsin. The University was established in 1891 and named in honor of its founder James Huff Stout.
UW-Stout is a Polytechnic University. It is one of the two extraordinary mission universities in the University of Wisconsin System. Campus and Accommodation
UW-Stout campus is located in Menomonie, Wisconsin. The campus is divided into 2 sections: a primary campus and North campus. The 124-acre campus houses 25 significant scholarly and regulatory structures, 10 home corridors, and 245 research centers.
Accommodation:
UW-Stout provides on-campus housing facilities for students. There are 3 residential halls. Each of the halls houses 400-500 students. The rooms are shared by 2 students each.
Admission Requirements for International Students

Scholarships for international students
- Stout Scholars
This Scholarship is awarded to three outstanding students. This scholarship is renewable for an additional three years as long as the student maintains eligibility.
Scholarship amount: $5000 per year
Eligibility Criteria:
- A cumulative GPA of 3.67 or higher.
- An ACT composite score of 27 or higher or an SAT total score of at least 1280.
- The applicant should be a recent high school graduate admitted as a first-year student to UW-Stout for the fall semester by the first Monday in February.
- The updated credentials must be received by the first Monday in February.
- Out of State Scholarship
This scholarship is exclusively for out-of-state applicants. This scholarship is renewable for an additional three years as long as the student remains enrolled full-time and in good academic standing.
Scholarship Amount: $2000 per year
Eligibility Criteria:
- A cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
- The applicant should be a recent high school graduate admitted as a first-year student to UW-Stout for the fall semester by the first Monday in February.
