Admission requirements for international students

There is no specific requirement for international students. Even though the course is taught in English, no English proficiency test score is required. A B2-level German certification is suggested for students to be able to communicate with patients during clinical teaching. 

An average high school GPA would be sufficient as the university conducts its exam and a motivation-based interview round.

Career prospects, placements, and salaries for UMCH graduates

After completing the 6-year-long general medicine program, students will be eligible to practice in the EU as well as the rest of the world. The medical degree provided corresponds to the professional qualification listed in Annex V of the EU Professional Qualification Directive. It forms the basis for obtaining a license to practice medicine in the EU and many other countries.

Working in Germany

Germany allows international students to find employment both during and after the completion of their course. All Non-EU students are allowed to work in Germany, provided they have applied for the appropriate visa after their studies. As per government guidelines, international students are required to extend their resident permit for up to 18 months to get a job in their field of study. After finding a job, students can then apply for an EU Blue Card which will enable them to work in any EU state.
