Admission Process for International Students

  • Fill out the University’s application form, which can be found on FH Aachen University’s official website. Alternatively, to ensure an error-free application process and enhance your chances of securing admission, apply via Gyanberry.
  • The FH Aachen accepts applications for all degrees programs through their online application portal. Certain degree programs necessitate prior registration at hochschulstart.de; once registered, you must also apply via the FH Aachen application portal. Checklists for the various application steps are available on the application portal.
  • If you applied for a degree program with no admission requirements, you will receive a letter of admission in the form of a PDF file to download once the online registration process is completed. Then, by the registration deadline specified in the letter of admission, please send to the Registrar’s Office all of the documents listed in the letter of admission. Please remember to bring your admission letter with you, which contains a QR code.
  • If you have applied to a degree program with limited admission, your application will be reviewed first. After the application deadline has passed and all applications have been reviewed, you may receive an offer of admission. You must accept the offer before the portal’s deadline (hochschulstart.de).
  • If you accept the offer, you will receive an email in which you will be asked to complete the online registration application on the FH Aachen application portal. At the end of your online registration, you will be able to download your letter of acceptance as a PDF file. Then, by the registration deadline specified in the letter of admission, please submit to the Registrar’s Office all documentation listed in the letter of admission. Please remember to bring your admission letter with you, which contains a QR code.

Eligibility Criteria

German Track 

  1. The Freshman program is offered in German (German Track), English (English Track FeP), and English to German (English to German) (English to German Track). They offer guaranteed admission to select bachelor’s degree programs and colleges after Freshman year.
  2. The German language will be examined as part of the entrance exam, and there will be no requirement for a certificate.
  3. Each university selects which courses and final exams are required for a bachelor’s degree program.
  4. Students may apply to study at any German university after completing the Freshman program, though preferably in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). The Freshman Institute, on the other hand, cannot ensure that a student will be accepted into a bachelor’s degree program.

English Track FeP

  1. It is not necessary to have any prior knowledge of German.
  2. B2 or IELTS 5.5 is the suggested minimum English language level for admission to the Freshman program. The English language will be examined as part of the entrance exam, and there will be no requirement for a certificate.
  3. The first year of study and the bachelor’s degree programs are taught entirely in English.

English to German Track

  1. It is not necessary to have any previous knowledge of German.
  2. B2 or IELTS 5.5 is the suggested minimum English language level for admission to the Freshman program. The English language will be examined as part of the entrance exam, and there will be no requirement for a certificate.
  3. English and German will be taught during the freshman year. The transition from English to German will be assisted with German language classes.
  4. The usage of English and German as university languages, as well as the specifics of the Freshman program, differ based on the partner university.

Other Eligibilities

  • To be eligible for the Freshman Program, all applicants must take the entrance test or TestAS.
  • Online and in-person entrance exams are offered for the Freshman program. Entrance exams are required for all applicants.

Documents Required for International Students

  2. It is necessary to have a bachelor’s degree as well as a certificate.
  3. Transcripts must be provided.
  4. The GRE is needed for non-Bologna applicants.

Scholarships for International Students

The FH Aachen grants scholarships to students whose personal backgrounds enhance expectations for great academic accomplishment under the government program “Deutschlandstipendium” (Germany Scholarship). These scholarships are performance scholarships, as defined by the law and regulations governing the establishment of a national scholarship program, as well as the FH Aachen scholarship criteria.

  • Registration as a full student at the FH Aachen is a formal criterion for receiving a scholarship.
  • You must first apply to the FH Aachen as a full student. After that, you’ll be able to apply for the scholarship program.
  • Only those who have been accepted into a degree program at the FH Aachen are eligible for a scholarship.

The University does not provide on-campus accommodation for students. However, it assists the students in finding residential halls and apartments as per their requirements and convenience.
