Housing and Accommodation at Hanze University of applied sciences

Student housing facilities are not usually handled by most universities in the Netherlands, it is the responsibility of the student. Obtaining lodging may also be difficult. Around 20,000 students begin their studies at Hanze University each year. As a result, obtaining a room is quite tough. It is recommended that you be prepared, begin your search as soon as possible, and consider a variety of options.

One of the options is reserved rooms at SSH:

SSH Groningen is a non-profit housing organization that assists bachelor’s, master’s, and exchange students in locating temporary housing. Hanze University of Applied Sciences has reserved accommodations for SSH students, although there are a limited number of rooms available. Approximately 25% of the new students are able to make a reservation at SSH each year. So, if you want to rent a room via SSH, be sure to register and make your reservation as soon as possible.

Private rooms are available on the market.

The majority of students arrange housing on their own, getting a place on the private market, however, is very challenging. This is because the Dutch housing market is very competitive in general, since the demand for property outnumbers supply, driving up costs. And it would be tough to locate lodging in a place you are unfamiliar with.
