Campus and Accommodation at MTU

MTU Bishopstown Campus, Cork is the major Cork campus at MTU. This campus is located in Bishopstown, on the western outskirts of Cork city, and spans roughly eighty acres. Admission requirements at MTU

Application deadlines: The deadline for most full-time programs starting in September 2022 is Tuesday, May 31st, 2022.  If you are an international student from a non-EU country, you can apply to study at MTU  directly through the International Office.

For candidates residing outside of the European Union/European Economic Area, the International Admissions Policy is different. Such policies for admissions are as follows:

Undergraduate programs:

In order to apply for an undergraduate course at MTU, you must meet the following requirements:

  • All candidates who do not speak English as their first language must have their English language proficiency verified. They must either have an IELTS score of 5.5, a

PTE Academic of 46, a TOEFL IBT score of 70, or a Duolingo score of 85 or above.

  • An academic award comparable to the Irish Leaving Certificate test must have been completed.
  • Must have foundation-level mathematics for specific courses.

Postgraduate programs:

In order to apply for a Postgraduate course at MTU, you must meet the following requirements:

  • An Irish Level 8 Bachelor’s honors degree with a first or second-class mark is required.
  • All the previous requirements as mentioned in the undergraduate programs are also required.
  • They must also have an IELTS score of 6.0, a PTE Academic of 51, a TOEFL IBT score of 80, or a Duolingo score of 80 or above.

As an international student, you must first download and complete the International Student Application Form.

You must then make copies of supporting papers and scan them. These are the following:
