Top Dental Universities in Lithuania
Lithuania has two dental institutes. These offer dental programs as integrated studies including an internship. They follow the European ECTS credit system and each course is 300 ECTS credits. Here is the list of dental programs offered by both institutions to study in Lithuania.

In addition to an integrated dentistry degree, the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences provides a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene. The Klaipeda State University of Applied Sciences also offers a dental hygiene degree. But it does not have an integrated dentistry degree. The dental hygiene degree is of 3 years duration. The graduates can work as dental hygienists at any licensed oral healthcare organization.
Vilnius University
Vilnius University came into existence in the year 1570 in Vilnius. It is one of the oldest universities in Lithuania. It offers an integrated dental program of 5 years. The graduates receive an award of the Dental Doctor in Odontology, Master in Health Sciences. The university has designed the program in accordance with EU standards. It comprises both, theoretical and practical teaching.

Lithuanian University of Health Sciences
Founded in 1920, the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) offers dentistry (odontology) as an integrated course. The duration of the course is 5 years including an internship. The university established the Faculty of Odontology in 1921. It is a member of the Association of Dental Education in Europe (ADEE). It welcomes students from around the world. Out of 1,327 international students from 78 countries, 17% are studying dentistry at LSMU. After graduation, dental students can do their residency at LSMU in the following specialties:

Application process
Applicants can use the online application form to fill in the application and submit it along with relevant documents. The university charges a one-time application fee of 150 Euros and a registration fee of 250 Euros. The selected candidates receive an offer letter from LSMU. The living cost is also reasonable in Lithuania. Both the universities offer accommodation to international students. These are dormitories where students have to share rooms. A dental graduate in Lithuania can work in all areas of clinical dentistry. They can get their license and start practicing dentistry straight away. The Lithuanian Dental Chamber is in charge of awarding dental licenses in the state of Lithuania. Dentists in Lithuania can work in the following areas:

Scholarships to study Dentistry in Lithuania
Although only 2 dental colleges are there in Lithuania, both offer scholarships to international students. The LSMU offers several scholarships every year. One such scholarship is the “International Excellence Scholarship”. It is given to the LSMU ambassadors. Vilnius University provides financial support to international students in the form of the following scholarships:

- One-off social grants
- One-off target scholarships
- Nominal scholarships
- Foreign student scholarships
The Incentive scholarships are given to outstanding students of the first cycle, second cycle and integrated studies. Students receive 1.5 to 2.5 “Basic Social Benefit or BSB” per month. BSB is currently 46 euros per month. One-off social grants are for students in the event of a death in the family. Students from all the cycles are eligible to apply. They receive a one-time grant of 2 to 12 BSB. Students who outperform in sports activities receive One-off target scholarships. It can range from 1 to 15 BSB.
