Campus 

The campus of Vilnius Gediminas University is located in Vilnius, Lithuania. The Neris River runs through it. Vilnius (population 543.000) is the country’s heart; the epicenter of science, economy, culture, politics; and financial capital. The fact that the country’s administrative institutions, foreign embassies, and diplomatic offices are all located in Vilnius contributes to the city’s high social intensity. Vilnius has a wide range of theatres, orchestras, and festivals, as well as extensive libraries, a diverse cuisine, and numerous nightclubs. 

Vilnius has a wonderful old town that is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the largest in Eastern Europe, with fine examples of Gothic, Baroque, Renaissance, and classical architecture, as well as a medieval layout and natural setting. The city is changing as a result of modern glass and steel buildings in the commercial areas. The geographical center of Europe is found in Vilnius County, Lithuania, which may surprise you. Vilnius County also contains the ancient capitals of Trakai and Kernav.

Location

The international student dormitory at Vilnius tech is located on the university campus, about a 7-10 minute walk from the Vilnius tech administration building and the faculties of Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Business Management, and Fundamental Sciences. Architecture, Electronics, Mechanics, and Transport Engineering faculties are in the city center, while the A. Gustaitis Aviation Institute is on Likmen st. 28.

Price of Vilnius tech student dormitories

The cost for one person per month ranges from 125 to 170 dollars.

Deposit: 340, which will be refunded if you have not caused any damage.

Furniture

Two beds, one desk, a small cupboard, a table, and two chairs are provided in each room. Every kitchen has a sink, refrigerator, electric cooker, and two dressers. Each room has its own wardrobe. For architecture students, there is a separate workroom.

Private accommodations

Renting a flat in the city is also an option. A one-bedroom flat in the city costs between 150 and 300 EUR per month, though well-furnished apartments are more expensive.

The ESN Vilnius tech (Erasmus Student Network) team is heavily involved in assisting students in their search for private housing.

Private hostels

Students can choose from a variety of private hostels based on their preferences and needs.

Some private hostels, such as Chapters, Corner Hotel, and Green Hotel, cater to long-term guests. The Corner Hotel is close to the city center, as well as the Electronics and Mechanics faculties, as well as the Architecture faculty, which is not on the main university campus. Although the Green Hotel is a little further from the old town, its convenient location allows for easy access to the city center.

Admission requirements for international students

Applications are admitted through the online application system. Alternatively, students can apply via Gyanberry for error-free document submission to enhance their chances of admission.

Application Process

The candidates need to fill out an application form and pay an application fee of 115 USD or 425 AED. The International Studies Center will review the application and may ask the candidate to provide past academic transcripts. 

After the application is reviewed, the International Studies Center invites the shortlisted candidates to record an interview. The candidates have 5 days to send in the recorded interview. 

Upon successful completion of the process selected candidates will be sent an acceptance letter by the university. The students must then pay their tuition fees and secure admission to the university. Once the fees is paid the student will receive official documents from the university and can then apply for a student visa. 

Documents Required

All of the following must be included for an application to be processed.

• In the application system, fill in the essential information.
• Grades on a certificate of education (secondary/undergraduate degree, etc.).
• Curriculum Vitae (CV)
• Certificate of English Proficiency

Document requirement after acceptance:

• Certificate from a foreign bank and a notarized letter of guarantee from parents/sponsors, as well as a financial capability document (needed to present to the Lithuania Embassy).
• In the recent two years, you have received a non-conviction/police clearance certificate from your countries of residency (needed for TRP application).
• To sign a contract for studies with the university, to sign a contract with a dormitory, to open a bank account in Lithuania, and to apply for a Temporary Residence Permit in Lithuania, minor students (under the age of 18) must bring a notarized Letter of Authorization/Permission/Affidavit from their parents/legal guardians.

Estimated annual cost of attendance for an international student at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (including annual living expenses and annual tuition fees) is 11,000 USD or 40,500 AED. 

Scholarships for international students 

Best International students applying to VILNIUS TECH’s first year of Bachelor’s degree studies may be awarded a scholarship (tuition-free place) for the academic year 2022–2023. Students have until April 20th, 2022, to submit their applications. 

For the chosen study program, all applicants must submit their applications online along with their educational documents. You must also select a scholarship application and complete it. After submitting the application, all applicants who meet the above-mentioned selection criteria will be asked to record an interview.

Applicants must be under the age of 21. If the student has no academic debts, the scholarship is awarded for four years of study.

Applications that are incomplete or do not include payment of the application fee will not be considered for a scholarship. A scholarship application received after April 20, 2022, or without registration will not be considered.  

Best For the academic year 2022–2023, international students applying to the first year of Master’s degree studies at VILNIUS TECH may be awarded a scholarship (tuition-free place). Students have until April 20th, 2022 to submit their applications.

Previous academic achievements and examination results (minimum 80 percent of maximum grade) are used to make the final selection.

• Students in their senior year of high school must submit their school transcripts for all completed semesters of study as well as expected exam results.
• Personal qualities, assets, and liabilities that may influence education are highlighted in a motivation letter. A summary of your most significant professional or academic accomplishments to date. SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT

Six international full-time students with the highest grade point average (not less than 9.00 out of 10) receive a monthly scholarship of 170 USD or 625 AED  for the semester. Only enrolled students who have completed at least one semester at VILNIUS TECH, have a semester grade point average, and are not receiving any other scholarships from VILNIUS TECH or the Lithuanian government are eligible for the scholarship.
