Istanbul Aydin University (IAU) is a private university founded on May 18, 2007. Located in Istanbul, Turkey, the university is an extension of the vocational college of Anadolu BIL. IAU has two campuses, one in Bahçelievler and the other in Florya.

Cost of living at IAU

IAU has collaborated with several private dormitories and housing facilities to ensure that the university students stay in a peaceful, secure, comfortable, and hygienic atmosphere. 

Accommodation is available in single, double, triple, and suite rooms at affordable rates. 

Due to IAU’s central location, a lot of private dormitories are available near the university. In general, living expenses are reasonable in Istanbul, especially in comparison with Western European Countries. Commonly, students prefer to share a flat, which would cost around 150 to 400 Euros. The average cost of living in Istanbul amounts to 300-400 Euros per month depending on the accommodation.

Currently, IAU hosts a dormitory for females only. It is built in a 5-Star hotel concept and composed of 254 rooms with distinct features. The dormitory can hold up to 600 students in a total area of up to 18000m2. The complex includes a library, TV rooms, fitness centers, Pilates saloons, study rooms, cafes and restaurants, art and music rooms, professional kitchens, laundry rooms, prayer rooms, and luggage rooms. 

Scholarships for international students

There is a wide range of scholarship opportunities for graduate students at​ Istanbul A​ydin University. ​Istanbul Aydın University gives out unrequited scholarships to needy and successful international students every year. In order to receive the scholarship, students’ academic achievements and their participation in various social and cultural activities are taken into consideration.

Medicine

Getting an MD will allow one to practice medicine in Turkey and other parts of the world, where the degree is recognized by the Medical Council of the specific country. The career scope after studying medicine in Turkey is vast due to education quality and reputation.

Working in Turkey

Working in Turkey requires a work visa and work permit. The employer needs to apply for a work permit. Visas in Turkey cannot exceed 90 days. Anyone staying over 90 days must apply for a short-term residence permit at the Directorate General of Migration Management. The Ministry of Family, Labor, and Social Services will ultimately decide if an employee can obtain a work permit or not. If the application gets approved, the work permit will be equivalent to a residence permit.

Work permits in Turkey are initially valid for one year but can be extended to two years, then three years after a second extension. Once employees live and work in Turkey for eight consecutive years, they can apply for an indefinite work permit that does not require renewal.
